Site
The project’s territory is located in three provinces: Najaf, Diwaniyah and Babylon. The project area is located in the Euphrates River basin between the cities of Kifal and Shanavia, 200 km south of Baghdad.
It is located between latitudes (35°31-15°32) north and longitude (55°43 -45°44) eastward. As shown in the note No. 1.
The total area of the project, including the areas occupied by cities, kasbahs, rivers, land with poor soil and untapped land, is about (203.66) thousand hectares distributed in three provinces (Diwaniyah, Najaf, Babylon) as shown in the table below and map No. 1. The net area of the area of the irrigated area is about (96,000) hectares (384,000 dunums), of which 50,000 dunums are currently under implementation.

- Conducting topographic survey modernization (ground survey)
- Detailed designs and hydraulic calculations of irrigation and diesel networks
- Mechanical and construction designs for the pumping station, water table and implementation documents
- Preparing geotechnical investigations
